Coach Borough Bowling Dark Lime : Handbag Review
Pros, cons, and videos to show the bag in action !
Hello everyone and welcome to the beginning of a new week!
Today we will be going over one of the best bag purchases I’ve personally made this year and how sometimes things you are not sure about is worth a try and may even actually surprise you the way the Coach Borough Bowling bag Surprised me.
It was the color. This year the color green has taken over my heart in the way purple and lavender took over last year in 2023. Coach New York released a color called Dark Lime that was honestly the BEST shad of green I’ve ever seen. Green enough to be a POP yet versatile enough to be worn with most things I own. I stayed in this bag for two weeks straight and it went with every single thing and even added another layer of interest to each outfit I wore.
While I adore small leather goods and mixing up colors and textures for a satisfying dig every time I have to go into my bags, I also like to experiment with decorating the outside of my bags to make it my own and reflect my mood for the day. This concept has been a game changer.
Dressing up my bags in and out has made some of my hardest days more enjoyable. Seeing a bag I love and feeling puffy SLG’s, quilted wallets, denim wallets, canvas key holders can brighten up my mood in an instant giving a small pocket of joy here and there throughout the day.
For the first week I wore it with a long leather chain strap that I took off my Coach Quilted studio bag in Dove gray - A bag I haven’t worn in a while. And I also used the Coach leather tea rose Bag charm in the spring floral 2024 print which I absolutely adore.
I was hesitant to buy this bag for a few reasons: the lack of colorful options and I’m also not the biggest fan of the glove tanned leather by Coach. But, It was the color Dark Lime that inspired me to pull the trigger . That, and the deal was able to get for about $197 vs the original $425 price tag.
Pros:
spacious interior - no need to take the time to downsize your small leather goods (unless they are massive pouches) This bag has a wider bottom that tapers up to a rounded opening so it is very easy to load up even with sunglasses and longer full sized wallets.
comfortable to wear and versatile - this bag is so easy to dress up and wear in different ways. The rolled top handles make it so easy and comfortable to wear top handle and lends to a more feminine look when paired with a dress or skirt and the included cross body strap is adjustable and removable. The top handles also does no rub or dig into your body when worn crossbody in my experience.
Very stylish - the way this bag is shaped gives me flashbacks to more old-school unisex bags one may wear with bowler hats and suits. The dark lime color gives a more modern look but the other colors available like black, maple, saddle and chalk can give a more
extremely soft and smushy leather!
Cons:
Can be cumbersome : This con is totally dependent on the owner. the zipper opening can be rough to get in and out of for someone with larger wider hands however I’ve had no issues with my smaller/ average hands. The zipper is not sharp and doesn’t scratch me up every time I go in and out of the bag (which is a deal breaker for me.)
limited color ways available.
Also if this bag is empty or lightly packed, The bag will swing back and forth on the crossbody strap so it is very important to be sure it is zipped up and secure so items don’t fall and scatter all over the place if it does flip upside down if you are getting out of the car etc. But when it is fully packed, The bag stays put and doesn’t do its little dance.
